It is expected that U19AA athletes take advantage of the off-season to improve their overall strength and conditioning, which will support increased performance and help with injury prevention during the season.
Players who have registered through the “intent to tryout” process will receive a link for an optional program that athletes can use as a resource to help support their individual training. This program is broken into 2 sections: “lifting” days (strength), and “conditioning” days.
The program was created by Head Coach, Alyssa Mainwood, with help from: Habib Atallah (Team Canada Ultimate Frisbee Coach), Mel Thomas (Mel Thomas Performance), and Ringette Canada resources.
The program provides flexibility and can be adapted by each athlete. While many of the exercises will be familiar to some, there are links to videos for all the strength exercises that may be helpful. It is also important that athletes consider their current health and summer sport schedule and seek support if needed. Any questions about the program or exercises can be sent to “info@eoaara.ca” and we will be happy to help!
Athletes who have not received the link to access the program can email “info@eoaara.ca” and it will be shared.
Have a great summer!
** New Program announcement coming soon (June)

In an effort to assist 3rd year players, we have established the role of a liaison who will foster communication between local ringette organizations where U19AA candidates may also be trying out such as Nepean NRL, Gatineau NRL, Carleton University, University of Ottawa and GAARA (Gloucester and Area Adult Ringette Association). Our goal is to ensure that at-calibre athletes are not inadvertently disadvantaged due to the timing of tryouts or releases. In the past, NRL and University teams have released at-calibre athletes due to a shortage of available positions on their teams. By then, it may be too late for these athletes to try out for another team.
Any U19 athlete with questions about the Program may contact Allison Madeley in confidence.
